Articles, interviews, reports, series, programs or any other kind of piece of mass media that participate in the Contest must be published or broadcasted in Panama and must be intended for the Panamanian population.
The jury will select proposals based on such criteria as scientific accuracy, originality, clear writing, and the ability for building awareness about science and technological development in the general population.
Press/Print Proposals
The entry form must be submitted together with 3 copies of the proposal by way of clippings, reprints or photocopies clearly showing the heading, title, date and the newspaper, magazine or other organization that published the proposal. Proposals printed directly from the Internet will not be evaluated.
Radio or TV Proposals
The entry form must be submitted together with 3 copies of a CD or DVD of the transmission or broadcast.
Proposals published or transmitted between January 1st, 2009 and December 2, 2009 are eligible for the contest.
Each Contestant may submit up to 3 proposals. A separate entry form must accompany each proposal.
Each Contestant may submit proposals in only one of the three sub-categories (radio, TV, or press).
Contestants must deliver their proposals to the City of Knowledge Foundation duly presented in print format and in electronic format (CD or DVD).
Each Contestant may submit up to 3 proposals.
Each Contestant may enter in only one category.
The proposal must include the following information:
- Project Title
- Executive Summary
- Problem statement and hypothesis
- Objectives
- Expected impact on direct or indirect users
- Potential users of the project
- Theoretical Framework and state of the art
- Methodology
- Timeline
- Necessary infrastructure or equipment
- Budget
- Expected results
- Strategy for transferring and communicating results to potential users
- Bibliography (strictly related to the project)
The jury will select the proposals based on the following criteria: impact and originality, methodology and experimental design, technical and economic feasibility, and environmental risk considerations and their mitigation.
