Executive Management

The executive management of City of Knowledge Foundation (FCDS) formulates and implements FCDS policies and, for that purpose, it coordinates the work of the various Foundation departments. Additionally, executive management represents FCDS before the members of the Local and International Network and presents proposals for academic programs, entrepreneurial organizations, NGOs and international organizations to the Board of Directors.

Since the beginning (1997), executive management of the City of Knowledge Foundation has been headed by professor Jorge Arosemena, a sociologist and philosopher from Saint Louis University (USA). Professor Arosemena has vast experience in the educational area and in public administration. These two aspects of his career have become intertwined in time. Thus, he has been a full professor of Sociology in the University of Panama, but also an academic vice president and secretary for the same institution; he has been a vice minister and minister of education and vice head of the Cabinet; he has headed the Panama Tourist Bureau and also participated in various international cooperation projects.
