Christmas Trees in City of Knowledge constructions
Construction workers who specialize in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED), made two Christmas trees with materials from the construction of the new Commercial Plaza and Dormitories at the City of Knowledge.
The Christmas trees are made of wire, cans, plastic bottles, cups, PVC tubes, reflective mesh, cement, Styrofoam, electricity tubes and plywood, amongst other materials.
The new building constructions at the City of Knowledge are registered to obtain the LEED certification, awarded by the Green Building Council, for design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Therefore, the initiative aimed to encourage the reuse of materials and stimulate the Christmas spirit between construction workers, as well as offering a sustainability message.
