The objectives of this conference are to provide a forum to present and share scientific research related to natural resource extraction and infrastructure development activities, including oil exploration, mining, hydroelectric dams and road construction, and their implications for forests and people in the Neotropics; as well as advancing in the understanding of mitigation options, including opportunities for forest restoration.
It is addressed to government officials, representatives of NGOs and the private sector, indigenous and community leaders, landowners who have an interest in understanding the scope, impacts, benefits and potential mitigation options of the industrial extraction of natural resources and the infrastructure development in tropical forests in Panama and the region.
