OEI highlights Panamanian youth values
The award ceremony for the 1st Festival of Images Imagine, where the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), based in the City of Knowledge, awarded the category: OEI Culture of Peace Award 2012, was held successfully.
With this initiative the Organization of Ibero-American States, the National Institute of Culture (INAC), the Panamanian rock band Bajo Zero, Claro and Telemetro, motivated young Panamanians from ages 12 to 15, to use their creativity, time and technology in order to create a video, images, pictures or drawings that would show their desire to live in a world where peace and respect for the planet and its people prevail.
During the ceremony Ms. Melissa Wong Sagel, Resident Director of the OEI Panama, presented the Award to 14-year-old student Joshua Quintero Otero, student of the San Francisco de Asís School, and winner of the OEI Culture of Peace Award. Joshua will participate in the Ibero-American Languages Congress to be held in September in Salamanca, Spain.
